Phil Spector Retrial Date Set

A retrial for Mr Phil Spector has ben set for October, despite the defence having none of it, an appeals court in California has said.
The court rejected a call for a stay of the trial so the defence could appeal on the grounds of double jeopardy.
Also dismissed was an assurance that prosecutors would not ask jurors to convict him of smaller offences.
Phil is accused of killing actress Lana Clarkson. In the original trial the jury failed to reach a verdict and ended after 12 days of deliberation.
A decision on a second trial has taken until now due to the commitments of the last member of his legal team.
