Cornershop - Wop the Groove
Hmm, interesting one. Released February 6th.
Yes we all remember 'Brimful of Asha' and 'Sleep On the Left Side', they were great tracks, but what has happened since then? Not a lot it appears.
Now there is not a lot wrong with the track, but as soon as Rowetta - how features on this track - comes in it sends it down to about here... (My hand is on the floor)
For all intensive purposes it's just 3:09 of the same thing over and over, as an intstrumental it would not be that bad, but centering the vocals on one channel is just plain annoying.
B-side 'The Dixons D90 Series' is a bit better, taking us through the features and downfalls of a piece of consumer electronics, whatever it might be. All I know is 'bent or irregular shaped shafts' doesn't sound too good.
