Belle & Sebastian - The Blues Are Still Blue
Released April 3rd.
Belle & Sebastian are no strangers to music having first charted in 1997 with 'Dogs On Wheels' reaching #59, but nine years on they are enjoying their best success yet with their latest album 'The Life Pursuit' reaching the top 10 and their last single 'Funny Little Frog' reaching #13.
Their next choice of single is a good one, 'The Blues Are Still Blue'. And it's a great piece of work, it's wierd mix of old-ness, Scotland, kicking riffs and for some reason Jack Johnson, amounts to a track that deserves to break into the top 10.
Yes I don't know why Jack Johnson springs to mind either.
Each line of the chorus, 'I left my washing in the launderette, You can put some money on it, you can place a little', develops into a high-pitched stroke of cool, the perfect hook that earns you big points.
The perfect track to lead us into Spring/Summer.
'The Blues Are Still Blue' is released April 3rd.
