Kasabian - Empire
Released July 24th/August 21st.
In a novel idea Kasabian decided that people are too impaitent, they want the stuff they hear on the radio on their iPod and in their CD collection straight away.
'Empire' will therefore be available from your favourite download and record stores from July 24th - the day it hits the radio.
Downside? Chart placing may suffer due to the lack of promotion prior to its release. Upside? Probable increase in sales over a longer period of time.
To combat its chart placing the group are also to release a DVD format of the single on August 21st, two weeks before the album - of the same name - is released.
But what of the track itself?
It's easily marked as Kasabian, there is no mistaking Tom Meighan's voice or the hard hitting drum beats.
Despite the clear trademarks 'Empire' is a slight shift from the first albums sound and the result is a grower track rather than an instant climb back into the usual Kasabian box.
